The incumbent will report on a day to day basis to the Head of Retail.
The Shop Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the retail shop activities.
All activities are conducted in a customer focused way to ensure excellence in service and a memorable ‘shopping experience for the customer at all times.
The key responsibilities of this position are as follows:
To manage all stock levels, protecting product margin and ensuring choice and range available to customer.
To ensure full customer satisfaction at all times, ensuring that your team follow The Butler’s Pantry service guidelines and go the extra mile in serving our customers.
To manage routine administration functions e.g. cash administration, stock management, staff schedules, sales reporting, waste control, customer feedback etc.
Manage and control the shop’s operational costs e.g. product margin, stock control, spmh, profit per customer.
To achieve the agreed annual targets for the shop in terms of sales, margin, customer count, average spend, profit per customer.
To merchandise and display all products in a way that is in keeping with the theme of The Butler’s Pantry.
To run in store marketing and promotion activities as per the annual marketing and local marketing plans. To achieve sales targets for these activities.
To manage the HACCP program, ensuring 100%achievement on Audit.
To ensure the retail environment is to The Butler’s Pantry standard achieving 100% result in all shop audits.
To ensure company security and cash handling policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
To manage staff effectively to ensure high levels of motivation, staff satisfaction and retention.
To conduct all initial and follow up training with staff and record same.
To act as a role model for the values of The Butler’s Pantry and to promote and support our culture of continuous improvement and best practice.
Comply with company policy at all times.
Adhere to company practices and procedures at all times.
Carry out all reasonable tasks and requests as assigned by manager/supervisor.
Professional manner at all times, representing the ethos and values of the company.
Ensure correct uniform is worn at all times.
Ensure compliance with company and best practice standards.
Comply with the health and safety working practices.
Actively look for hazards when carrying out duties and take appropriate action to remove and/or repot to manager.
